Making Choices

​​​Get Active

Research shows that people need to stay active every day to be healthy. As you look at making leisure changes, plan to get active. Start slowly and build up your activity level. Choose activities that will help you increase your endurance, flexibility, and strength. If you do this, you’ll​​​:

  • feel better physically
  • feel better emotionally
  • have more energy
  • be stronger
  • be more fit
  • stay at a healthy weight
  • be more alert
  • have better posture and balance
  • sleep better
  • increase your sense of well-being
  • relax and have less stress
  • be able to concentrate better
  • develop healthy friendships and relationships
