Pain management specialist

Pain management specialists are medical doctors who specialize in treatment of people who have ongoing (chronic) pain, such as back pain or nerve pain from diabetes. Medical doctors from many different specialties, such as anesthesiology, neurology, or physiatry, might further specialize in pain management.

Specialists in anesthesia, neurology, or other areas are certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
