Hydrosalpinx is the buildup of a clear, watery fluid in a fallopian tube, usually at the end closest to the ovary. This condition can make it difficult for a woman to become pregnant (infertility).
Treatment may include surgical removal of the part of the fallopian tube that generates the fluid (salpingectomy). Less frequently, a new opening in the part of the tube closest to the ovary may be surgically created (salpingostomy).
