Have you been able to stop gaining weight?
Many people find that they slowly gain weight year after year. Others find they can lose weight but often have trouble keeping the weight off.
If you’ve already lost weight and plan to keep it off, or if you don’t want to gain more weight, look at some of changes that you can make. You want these changes to be for the rest of your life, so set realistic targets or milestones that you can take on one by one. It’s a good idea to check in regularly with your health provider and ask for support when you need it.
Tell others who can help you about what you’re trying to do and remember to celebrate your successes. Small successes together can lead to reaching your goal. Some things will work, some won’t. Try to find what will work for you.
Think about what you’ve already done and keep using the strategies that have led to your success. By using a trial and error approach and working with your healthcare providers, you might find that some strategies work better than others.
