The Birth Control Centre offers the following services:

Holds monthly meetings, every third Thursday from 7 - 9 pm at the General Hospital Auditorium.
Due to the COVID pandemic, monthly in person meetings are suspended until further notice.
A support group for clients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
After short club meetings, there is an evening feature that changes monthly. One month's feature is an educational event with a guest speaker. Guest speakers include doctors and other specialists in related fields. The following month features entertainment such as music or comedy. Members also enjoy
The group does not meet during the summer months.
The club also does fundraising for a number of charities.
There is a cost of $15 per year for an annual membership.
Community Aids to Independent Living (CAIL) is an Alberta Health Services team of healthcare providers working in the community to help people get basic medical supplies, aids and equipment that is primarily funded by the Alberta Aids to Daily Living program (AADL). Alternate funding sources may be explored based on individual needs.
This program is eligible to people who have a chronic medical condition or a disability for longer than six (6) months. The CAIL team delivers services via home visits, equipment vendor sites, or a site clinic.
CAIL team provides clinical assessment for the following basic medical equipment and supplies, when required for long-term needs:
Please note: Clients who have recently sustained injury, received and or have a planned surgical intervention, or are undergoing active rehabilitation, are not AADL eligible for at least six months and should not be referred to CAIL. Referral sources should consider short-term equipment loans or rental options through other programs, until long term need has been demonstrated.
Healthcare providers are able to access virtual or in-person translation services as needed.

There is no fee for AHS clinical service.

Closed weekends and statutory holidays
Provides access to a wide variety of exercise equipment, including, bikes, weight machines, and treadmills for people who have completed the Breathe Easy Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.
Must be a graduate of the Breathe Easy Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre.
There is an access fee.
In accordance with Alberta's Health Information Act, this is a service which enables the release of individually identifiable health information with or without the consent of an individual.

A basic fee of $25.00 is applied to all requests which includes up to 20 pages depending on record format i.e. paper, electronic or microfilm record. Each additional page costs from .25 to .50 cents per page. Additional costs may apply. Fees are applied in accordance with the Health Information Act.
If you are unable to pay the fee, please submit evidence of financial hardship.
Completes patient charts, collects data, data entry and coding, collects patient information, dictates notes, and transcribes inpatient and outpatient charts.
There is a fee for copies of health records.
Provides hemodialysis treatments (a process where the client’s blood is passed through a special filter that removes waste products and water).
Most people need 3 treatments every week. Each treatment lasts 4 hours.
Provides interpreter services for Covenant Health sites only, to help patients and their families communicate with healthcare providers about their treatment and care. This service can provide access to telephone interpreters for more immediate or emergent needs, video remote interpretation and limited in-person interpreters services for pre-arranged appointments.
Phone Interpreter(s) provide access to over 240 languages, including; Arabic, Chinese, Cree, French, German,Hindi, Inuktitut, Italian, Japanese, Ojibwe, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Ukrainian, Vietnamese

Appointment Types: When calling to make an appointment please have your Alberta Health Care Number ready. The STI Clinic offers a variety of different appointment types:
Interpretation services are available for all languages, including American Sign Language.
The clinic books same day afternoon, or next day morning appointments. Appointment availability is limited. For best results patients are encouraged to call early in the morning (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM). For afternoon appointment times, call on the day you would like to be seen. For morning appointment times, call the day before you would like to be seen. Additional waiting periods may exist for referrals to STI physicians. Wait times vary depending on volume of clients and may take up to 24 hours for assessment. STI testing and treatment are also available through your family physician or local medical clinic.

Performs Level I polysomnograms and Home Sleep Apnea Tests to accurately diagnose and provide interventions that are used to treat a variety of sleep disorders.
