Provides assessment and follow-up care to assist patients diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other motor neuron disorders. Diagnoses, educates, treats and offers rehabilitation. Also involved with research.
Autonomic testing may be appropriate for the assessment of patients with unexplained dizziness / fainting, excessive sweating / heat intolerance, fluctuating or abnormal blood pressure or heart rate, bowel / bladder dysfunction and nerve (neuropathic) pain. Baseline and prognostic assessments may also be indicated for a number of conditions including metabolic disorders, autoimmune diseases, neuropathies, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy as well as generalized and inherited dysautonomias.

Provides support for people of all ages with type 1 or type 3 diabetes who want to start using an insulin pump. An insulin pump is a device a person wears instead of giving daily insulin injections. It is portable and can be programmed. It’s about the size of a pager and delivers fast-acting insulin through a small tube that is put under the skin. The site has to be changed every 2 to 3 days.

Inter-professional Outpatient Programs (IPOP) have been established to address COVID symptoms in patients where their symptoms last longer than 12 weeks. The IPOP clinics will provide medical and/or rehabilitation supports and services based on each patient’s needs by connecting primary care, specialty medicine, and allied health professionals. The IPOP teams are comprised of Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Physicians, Registered Nurses (RNs), and Allied Health Professionals who will develop/collaborate on and/or oversee patients’ care plans.People with long COVID report experiencing different combinations of the following symptoms: fatigue, difficulty thinking (“brain fog”), cognitive changes, headache, loss of smell/taste, dizziness, palpitations, chest pain, dyspnea, ongoing cough, joint/muscle pain, fever, depression, and anxiety. Physiotherapists are movement specialists who are trained to help people participate in their daily activities by helping them improve function and manage their pain and concerns.
Adults who meet specific criteria may be eligible for AHS physiotherapy services through AHS.
This service is provided by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health Services contracted service providers.
Children or Adults who have had a hip or knee replacement within the last 12 weeks. AHS must approve care that is required to start later than 12 weeks.
Initial assessment and set treatment visits will be covered by AHS for those who meet the service eligibility criteria.

Age 65 and over and living in Alberta, or younger than age 65 who suffer with a geriatric syndrome i.e. early onset dementia.
Non-urgent (3-6 months) and Urgent (1-4 weeks)
This clinic does not provide conservative treatment. Conservative treatment options should be trialed at least 3 months prior to a referral. They include physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, aquasize, core strengthening exercise and pain management. If applicable, weight loss and smoking cessation should be addressed. Clinical staff do not provide prescriptions, or second opinions. Referrals for tumors and acute fractures and other urgent conditions requiring diagnosis / treatment should be directed to a Spine Surgeon instead.
Clinical assessment appointments are provided to patients who are agreeable to surgery, have trialed conservative treatment for at least 3 months, have clinical signs and symptoms, and have evidence on diagnostic imaging supporting the protocol for surgery.
If the Spine Surgeons offer surgery, the surgical bookings are then arranged through the surgeons office.
Clinical assessment appointments are provided to patients who are agreeable to surgery, have trialed conservative treatment for at least 3 months, have clinical signs and symptoms, and have evidence on diagnostic imaging supporting the protocol for surgery (18 years and older).
