Understanding security & privacy
Security features
When you create a personal health record (PHR), all the data you put into your PHR is stored in HealthVault. HealthVault is a secure application that helps you gather, store, use, and share health information for you and your family.

Apps such as Netcare Connector and PHR can't access your information in HealthVault without your permisson. When you activate the PHR feature, you'll be guided through screens where you can authorize each of the apps you'll need.

Identity verification is a process to determine that you are who you say you are.  If you decide you want to become identity verified, you can do this online through the Service Alberta MyAlberta Digital ID website.  To become verified you will need an Alberta Driver's License or an Alberta ID card.

Identity verification allows you to take advantage of additional features on MyHealth.Alberta.ca (Connect to Alberta Netcare feature). Additional governmental services may also become available as a result of verifying your identity.
You can delete any information you've entered into your personal health record (PHR). You can also deactivate your PHR and close your MyHealth.Alberta.ca account any time you wish. If you want to edit or delete records or deactivate your PHR, go to your MyHealth.Alberta.ca account management pages.
