Technical problems

​Supported Browsers:

The most current version of each of the following browsers is supported, plus the 2 previous versions.

Some documents on this website are available in Adobe PDF format (xxxx.pdf). You need Adobe Acrobat ‘Reader’ to open these files. You can download it for free from Adobe.com. The download itself may be quite large for some systems (48MB) so check to see if it's already on your computer.

Other tools on this website are available in Adobe ‘Flash’ Player format. You need Adobe ‘Flash’ Player to use these interactive tools. You can download​ it for free from Adobe.com​. The software download is 15.7 MB and can easily be installed on most systems.  

It's a good idea to enable pop-ups in your browser when you're managing your MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account.​

To enable pop-ups for this site, follow the instructions below for the browser you are using:

Chrome - In the address bar at the top of your browser, you'll see a box with a red "X". Click the box and you'll see the option to enable pop-ups for this site.

Internet Explorer - You'll see a yellow bar at the bottom of your browser window. This bar means that a pop-up has been blocked. You'll be asked if you want to "Allow once" or to view more "Options for this site". Select "Options for this site" and then select "Always allow".

Safari - From the Safari menu, choose "Preferences", and click the "Security" tab. Make sure the "Block Pop-Up Windows" option isn't checked to allow pop-ups. If it's selected, click to deselect.

For Mac Users:
From the Safari menu, choose "Preferences" and click the "Security" tab. Make sure the "Block Pop-Up Windows" option isn't checked to allow pop-ups. If it's selected, click to deselect.

For iPhone users:
Go to "Settings" on your phone, find "Safari" and tap on the arrow ">".  On the Safari settings page, find "Block Pop-ups" – Make sure it's disabled (not green).

Once you've finished using MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault, you have to block the pop-ups again. From the Safari menu, choose "Preferences" and click the Security tab. Make sure the "Block Pop-Up Windows" option is checked to block all pop-ups.

Firefox - You'll see a yellow band at the top of your browser window. On the right side of this bar, there's an "Options" button. Click this button to have the option to enable pop-ups for this site.

​MyHealth.Alberta.ca, in accordance to Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services Web Development practices, has made every effort to make this website accessible and easy to use for everyone. Current approved standards require that web content be developed using Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. Some guidelines may not be met in all cases. 

In addition, content on MyHealth.Alberta.ca does its best to make sure the content is easy to read and understand. ​

After you've linked your personal health record (PHR) to Alberta Netcare and begin seeing your prescription history information, you may notice that some prescriptions seem to be missing.  

There are 3 possible reasons for this:
1) There may be a delay between the time the pharmacy fills your prescription and the time when it appears in your PHR. Check back again in a few days - it should be there.
2) Some pharmacies aren't part of the pharmacy information network (PIN), which is where Alberta Netcare gets this information. Most of these pharmacies are within hospitals. Please check with your pharmacy to make sure it's connected to Alberta Netcare.
3) The pharmacy doesn't have your correct name or birthdate on file. Check with your pharmacy to make sure their record is correct (the same as your Alberta Personal Health Card).​

If you think the information that's been transferred into your personal health record is wrong or doesn't belong to you, please report this issue right away to eHealth Support Services at 1-800-315-6028 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (MST) Monday to Friday.​ 

Seeing the yellow "Infobutton" beside a record in your medication widgets means a link to more information on this medication has been provided.

Please note:  If you're entering a medication into the widget and you can't find the name in the "auto-suggest" dropdown, check the spelling first. If you still can't find the name, the medication isn't in our database.

​If there is new prescription history information in Alberta Netcare, it will be transfered every time you log in to your MyHealth.Alberta.ca account.  The transfer will include any new information up to midnight of the previous day.
​Always save your entry when you enter information into a widget. You'll be able to see the information right after you've saved it.

To download a copy of the information in your personal health record (PHR), you can create a PDF document.  You can save this file on your computer as well as print it. 

To create the PDF click "PHR Tools & Settings", then "Tools".  The first widget on the page is the "Download My Health Information".

Choose the information you want and in what format you want it, then click "Create Report". You'll see a dialogue box near the bottom of the screen asking '"Do you want to open or save Report xxxxxxx.pdf". Choose the option you want. ​
