Using your personal health record
Managing your PHR

While you can only have 1 MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account and 1 personal health record (PHR), you can create and manage records for others (such as your children, a parent, or even a pet) within your PHR.

If you're managing health information for others, it's a good idea to set up an account in your own name first then add records for other people (or pets).

MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault works best when each person has only 1 record, so that all of the health information created and gathered for them goes to the same place. You can have up to 50 records in your MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account.

In the upper right-hand corner of your PHR you'll see the name of the record you're working on. To switch records, click the "Switch User" link below the name and select the record you want to work with.

To create another record in your PHR (MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account), go to the "Create & Manage records" widget under PHR Tools & Settings. Click "+Add". You’ll be taken to a MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault page. Click “+Add a Person” and follow the instructions and prompts.

When you delete a record, it completely deletes it from MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault and you will no longer see it in your PHR.

This includes:

  • health information
  • documents
  • access to this record by apps
  • access to the record by other users who share this record

To delete a record in your personal health record, go to Create & Manage Records. Click "Delete Record" and follow the instructions.

To deactivate your personal health record, go to  the "Manage My Account" pages. Your information is still securely stored, you just won't have access to it anymore. You can export your information so that you have a record of that information. See "Saving your health information".
