Using your personal health record
Getting information into your PHR

You can add information to widgets in your pesonal health record by clicking the "+Add" button. When you're done entering the information, click "Save".

Some fields have to be filled before you can save the data (they'll be marked with "*").

An exciting feature of your MyHealth.Alberta.ca account is connecting to Alberta Netcare (the Government of Alberta's electronic health record)to transfer a copy of the information stored there into your personal health record.   Currently, you can connect to Alberta Netcare and receive your prescription fill history.  Other data types will be added in the future.

To activate the "Connect to Alberta Netcare" you must be identity verified and have created your personal health record. Once you've done this, go to your MyHealth.Alberta.ca account page and click the Account Features tab. This tab will list the features that are available and tell you if they're active or not.

The button to activate the Connect to Alberta Netcare feature will now be active and you can proceed.

You will need to enter your Alberta Personal Health Number so that we can search Netcare to find your records.

You can transfer readings from a supported medical device into your MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account so that you can see them in your personal health record. To set up your medical device you have to download and install HealthVault Connection Centre (HVCC) to your computer. The HVCC is a free software program that allows you to send information from your health device to your MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account.

Please check the list of MyHealth.Alberta.ca supported devices to see if your device is compatible.

The first step in connecting a device is to check what devices are supported by MyHealth.Alberta.ca and then to install Microsoft HealthVault Connection Center (HVCC).

Microsoft HVCC acts as a bridge between your devices and your MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account. HVCC first imports readings from your device to your computer, then uploads the data over the Internet to your MyHealth.Alberta.ca HealthVault account.

NOTE:  Before you start, please make sure your computer meets the system requirements. Please see the Installation Guide for instructions.

Note: During download and installation, your browser and your security software may display messages asking you to confirm that you want to add the Connection Centre. Allow the download and installation to continue.
