Understanding the MyHealth.Alberta.ca Privacy Policy
Your personal health information is kept secure and private in your personal health record (PHR). The PHR is managed by Alberta Health Services on behalf of the Government of Alberta. Your personal  information is hosted behind firewalls, and industry standard encryption is used to protect your information. 

The PHR uses HealthVault as the secure database to store all your personal health information. Only you and the apps that you authorize, will be able to access or make changes to your information.  ​


MyHealth.Alberta.ca only uses the information in the personal health record that it needs to operate the system and support users.

MyHealth.Alberta.ca doesn't share your information without your consent, except when it's legally required. An example of this would be a subpoena or other court order. 

MyHealth.Alberta.ca respects your privacy and will keep your health and personal information private . We follow the high standards set by Government of Alberta privacy and security policies and standards, and provincial healthcare legislation.
