Respiratory illness—like influenza, COVID-19, and RSV—affects the airway and lungs. Vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and the people around you against respiratory illness.
It’s recommended that all Albertans age 6 months and older get the influenza vaccine every year.
It's safe to get the COVID-19 vaccine and influenza vaccine at the same time. These vaccines are given as separate doses, but you may choose to get both at the same appointment.
Eligible children and adults can get the COVID-19 vaccine. Visit COVID-19 info for Albertans | Alberta.ca for information about eligibility.
RSV immunization is available for adults age 75 years and older living in the community and adults age 60 years and older who live in a continuing care or supportive living facility.
Pneumococcal immunization is available for some people based on age and medical conditions. It may be offered at the same time as influenza and/or COVID-19 immunization.
What you need to know before, during, and after an immunization appointment.
