Depending on the location, there may be a waitlist for admission. AHS manages the waitlist / bed offer process
There’s a cost for housing (room and board set fee by Alberta Health) and extra services (i.e. laundry, cable, internet, telephone, etc). Care is paid for by AHS.
There is possibility of additional benefits through Alberta Serniors Benefits.

We can’t predict how long you will need to wait in the emergency department. Patients are assessed (triaged) using a standard scoring system called the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) to see how urgent their health needs are.
General Radiography uses x-rays to produce images of the structures inside the body, particularly bones. X-ray beams can pass through the body, but they are absorbed in different amounts depending on the density of the material they pass through.
In accordance with Alberta's Health Information Act, this is a service which enables the release of individually identifiable health information with or without the consent of an individual.

A basic fee of $25.00 is applied to all requests which includes up to 20 pages depending on record format i.e. paper, electronic or microfilm record. Each additional page costs from .25 to .50 cents per page. Additional costs may apply. Fees are applied in accordance with the Health Information Act.
If you are unable to pay the fee, please submit evidence of financial hardship.

Provides interpreter services for Covenant Health sites only, to help patients and their families communicate with healthcare providers about their treatment and care. This service can provide access to telephone interpreters for more immediate or emergent needs, video remote interpretation and limited in-person interpreters services for pre-arranged appointments.

Laboratory Services provides collection of blood and body fluids for tests ordered by your doctor or healthcare provider including a comprehensive range of routine and specialized lab testing and clinical consultations:

Full dietitian services are provided from assessment, nutrition care plan and follow-up appointments if needed. All sessions are completed one-to-one.

Supports people and their families during the dying process and at the end of life. Services are offered in different places, including at home, in health centres, and in continuing care centres.

Short-term care provided in a continuing care living centre for persons living at home to provide a break for their caregiver.
Respite application is submitted through a home care case manager
Fees are the same as the current continuing care accommodation charges and depend on the type of respite room (semi-private or private).
Registered Nurse care planning and health services are scheduled and provided by Home Care.
There may be help to pay for the service if you have a low income or get income assistance.
