Learn about movement skills and supporting your child to take steps on their own.

Overview

Some children seem to learn to walk very quickly and don’t need much help. Other children seem to want to take their time learning this skill. This video series gives you some things to try if you’re concerned about your child learning to walk.

In this series you’ll learn about:

  • how to tell when your child is ready to start walking
  • the skills your child needs to learn before they walk
  • some play ideas and practical tips to help your child learn to walk
  • signs that your child might need more help learning to walk

These 7 videos are intended for parents and caregivers of children from 9 to 24 months. Watch this video series at your convenience and at your own pace. Watch the videos in order or choose the videos that best fit your needs. The length of videos ranges from 4 to 7 minutes (total length 43 minutes).
