Developmental milestones

Learn how to help your child in their development.

Overview

Milestones are steps, or behaviours, that show the progress of development that is expected during a specific age range. Milestones include physical skills, like sitting, standing and walking, as well as first words, toilet training, sleeping, and emotional and sensory development.

Pediatric rehabilitation can help if your child is having challenges in these areas of development.

Our work takes place on historical and contemporary Indigenous lands, including the territories of Treaty 6, Treaty 7 & Treaty 8 and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta and 8 Métis Settlements. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous communities that have been forged in urban centres across Alberta.
