Laboratory Services provides collection of blood and body fluids for tests ordered by your doctor or healthcare provider.
Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.
An estimated wait time will be provided at the time of appointment booking.
Wheel chair access available. This facility is wheelchair accessible.
Community patients are served by the Alberta Precision Laboratories Patient Service Centre (PSC) located at 299 Edgefield Place, Strathmore AB, T1P 0E8.
To book a community PSC appointment use the Q.Me Appointment System or by phone.
The laboratory located in the Strathmore Hospital serves hospital patients, urgent care, and ambulatory clinic patients, by physician or ambulatory clinic referral only.

Closed Saturdays, Sundays, and Statutory holidays.
As this is an acute care facility, urgent and emergent priorities may impact and extend predicted wait times.
Employment related drug testing, fertility testing, post vasectomy testing, or paternity testing services are not performed at this site.

Provides up to 6 hours of wellness program. The program offers:
A referral from a Home Care Case Manager is needed.
Must be a Home Care client over the age of 18.
Wait time depends on how urgent the referral is.
May be a charge for a daily fee.
Client is responsible for transportation arrangements and costs.
May be eligible for cost share based on annual income.

Cafeteria services offer food and beverages at Alberta Health Services facilities. Catering services and vending machines are available at some sites. Each cafeteria services site team is dedicated to creating great food, inspiring healthy eating, and providing outstanding customer service to support the health of Albertans.

Holter Monitors are by appointment ONLY, with two appointments a day. One at 10:00AM and one at 3:00PM. Please call the Diagnostic Imaging department to book.
Offers heart rhythm monitoring services to help assess heart rhythms. Clients wear a portable monitor for 24 or 48 hours. The monitors are small and lightweight, and can be worn outside the hospital as clients do their normal everyday activities. Clients must not bath or do water-based activities.
Monitors must be returned at the scheduled time because they need to be processed and prepared for next client.
Walk-in only
Provides ECGs to diagnose possible heart conditions. Cardiologists and the Internal Medicine department reviews the results and sends a report to the referring / ordering doctor.

Pelvic Floor services are only offered out of Nanton Community Health Centre and Oilfields General Hospital. There are specific inclusion / exclusion criteria for pelvic floor physiotherapy. Please contact the clinic for more information.

We can’t predict how long you will need to wait in the emergency department. Patients are assessed (triaged) using a standard scoring system called the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) to see how urgent their health needs are.
Offers care on an inpatient basis including assessing, diagnosing, and treating many types of medical problems.
An estimated wait time will be provided when accepted to the program.
General X-Ray and ECGs are Walk-In Services only 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM M-F.

General Radiography uses x-rays to produce images of the structures inside the body, particularly bones. X-ray beams can pass through the body, but they are absorbed in different amounts depending on the density of the material they pass through.
Completes patient charts, collects data, data entry and coding, collects patient information, dictates notes, and transcribes inpatient and outpatient charts.
There is a fee for copies of health records.
The primary focus of Home Care is to provide medical support for people so they can live in their own homes. The goal is to maximize, enhance and maintain the clients current level of functioning by addressing unmet health needs. This includes clients of all ages. Clients are categorized by their health needs into categories based on their assessed needs.
Acute - urgent, time limited interventions, such as wound care, rehab, long term support to those at risk of institutionalization.
Maintenance - stable chronic health conditions, palliative and end of life.

These hours are for the pusiness office. Parking is available onsite 24 / 7.

As part of our support for patient care and comfort, friends and family of inpatients at hospital and health care facilities can send well wishes via email. Sites participating in the program will receive the message, will ensure that the message is only "well-wish" (any other type of communication will be deleted) and will arrange for delivery within 3 business days. A couple of important reminders - the electronic delivery system is not a secure connection, so please don't add any confidential information to your message. Plus the "well-wish" system does not allow for replies or confirm receipt / delivery confirmation.

Patient Food Services overarching objectives are to:
PFS delivers more than 31,000 patient/resident meals each day within AHS facilities.

The program provides short term intervention for patients with functional speech-language concerns. Reason for referral:(sub) acute neurological condition requiring SLP services.Dysphasia, Aphasia, Voice Disturbances, Speech Fluency, Functional Communication.
• resident of Alberta
• valid Alberta personal health care number (AB-PHN)
• functional rehabilitation goal(s)
• rehabilitation readiness, including: medically stable; physically able to participate in intervention, cognitively able to participate
• WCB and MVA injury related concerns.
• currently receiving Speech Language Pathology services from another program or provider for the same concern.
• Children / youth developmental delay support.
This service works individually with patients, groups and/or families to:

Referral is usually through the care team or patients and families can request to see a social worker while attending hospital.
