Health care aides (HCAs) provide people with personal assistance and help with activities of daily living. HCAs work in many healthcare settings including hospitals, supportive living, long-term care, and home care.
To become a certified HCA in Alberta, you must complete a recognized health care aide program at a post-secondary institution. In Alberta, all HCAs who work for a publicly funded employer must enroll in the Alberta HCA Directory.
