Search Help

Sometimes when we search for information we don’t get the results we expect.  This can be very frustrating.  Here are some tips to make your search efforts more effective.

  • Focus your search by using the search dropdown.

For example, if you are searching for a service, select service from the dropdown then enter your search term.  This will narrow the search to services and produce better results.

  • Refine your search by using the filtres in the left column of search results.

When a page of search results is presented to you, you will see a column on the left that will begin with the heading – “Refine results”.  The links provided there will allow you to filtre out information that you are not looking for.

For example, you do a search using the word “asthma”.  You may be looking for asthma medications specifically, and now you can refine the results to give you information on asthma medications by clicking on the word “Medications”.

You will also see that you can refine your results geographically by selecting a city name from the left column as well.  When you select a city from this list, you will be shown all the services related to your search term in that city.

  • Do not put your postal code in the search box, unless prompted to do so.

If you put your postal code in the search box, the search function thinks the postal code is a word and may produce unusual results.

You can use your postal code when you search for and find a service.  When you find a service you will get a list of the service locations.  If many locations exist, then you can use your postal code to find the location that is closest to you.
