Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Overview Screening recommendations for an abdominal aortic aneurysm are different for men and women.
Not all doctors agree on who should be screened for abdominal aortic aneurysm. Talk to your doctor about whether the benefits of screening would outweigh the risks in your case.
For men The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care recommends a screening test for men ages 65 to 80.footnote 1
For women The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care does not recommend screening for women.footnote 1
