Liver Transplant

Pediatric liver transplant

A pediatric liver transplant is a liver transplant for a child or teen under 18 years of age.

The process for liver transplants is mostly the same for children, teens, and adults but there are some things that are different for pediatric liver transplants compared to adult liver transplants.

Download the guide: Pediatric Liver Transplant Education Manual to learn more. The guide was written for children and teens who need a liver transplant.

Parents, guardians, and support people may also find the Pediatric Liver Transplant Education Manual helpful. It includes information about how to talk with a child about a transplant and reflections from the parent of a child who got a liver transplant (Brennen’s story).
