Pheochromocytoma

Pheochromocytoma is a tumour usually found in the adrenal glands (located on the kidneys). The tumour usually is not cancerous, but it can be fatal if left untreated.

Pheochromocytoma is rare and occurs most often in middle-aged adults. It causes attacks of high blood pressure, headaches, excessive sweating, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, and loss of consciousness.

Treatment for pheochromocytoma involves surgery to remove the tumour.
