Washing Your Hands

Washing your hands is the single best way to stop the spread of germs and infection. Wash your hands often with an alcohol-based hand rub (for example: Microsan®) or soap and water.

It’s okay to ask your healthcare team if they’ve washed their hands before doing any procedure (like changing your dressing).
