Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Pathway

Start your treatment and watch your symptoms

As you try different treatment options, remember that if something doesn't work the way you thought it would, think about other options. Talk with your healthcare provider to find what will work for you.

Remember:

  • If your jaw is locked open, locked shut, or if it is hard to move your jaw, call your healthcare provider, call Health Link at 811, or go to an emergency department.

Watching your symptoms is important. Write down any new symptoms. Call your healthcare provider or Health Link at 811 if you notice:

  • your jaw pain gets worse
  • your face is swollen
  • you do not get better as expected
