Cardiac rehabilitation program

After surgery, your healthcare team will refer you to a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Taking part in a cardiac rehabilitation program is one of the best ways to go back quickly and safely to your regular life and all the activities you enjoy.

You'll start the program about 6 weeks after going home. The program helps you recover as you make changes in your life to manage your heart health. You'll learn about going back to work, eating well, anxiety, and exercise.

Cardiac rehabilitation can help lower your chance of having heart trouble later. You'll get lots of support and meet others who are going through the same thing as you.

There may be a cost for some rehabilitation programs. If you need help to pay for a rehabilitation program, talk to your healthcare team.
