After delirium

The sooner the cause of delirium is found and treated, the better the chance of recovery.

Everyone is different. Delirium often goes away in a few days or weeks. For some people it can take many weeks. Others never go back to the way they were,  and they may have memory or thinking problems that don't go away.

Talk with the person's healthcare provider if you have questions or concerns.

If you have questions about delirium or dementia call Health Link at 811. You can talk to a registered nurse and ask about the Dementia Advice Line.
