After COVID-19

Getting back into a routine

Everything you do takes energy. After COVID-19, you may not have the same energy you did before. Everyday tasks—like grocery shopping, getting dressed, and showering—may take more effort and feel exhausting.

Try these tips as you get back to your daily routine:

  • Ask for help from a health professional if you're struggling to get back to your daily routine.
  • Gradually return to your basic daily routines as your symptoms allow.
  • Choose the type or amount of activity based on how you feel and what's important to you.
  • Keep track of how you feel. Notice what makes your symptoms better or worse.
  • Limit activities that make your symptoms worse.
  • Stop, rest, and pace yourself as you return to activity. Pacing means balancing activities with rest to manage your energy.
