Programs to help you and your child during their hospital stay.

Patient and Family-Centred Care

Children, youth, and their families are the centre of care at Alberta Health Services and the 2 provincial children’s hospitals. You and your child are important partners in your healthcare team. This helps you get excellent care with compassion, and respect.

Indigenous Health Program

This program has an Indigenous pediatric social worker, a registered nurse, a family coordinator, and an administrative assistant. They work with Indigenous children and their families while they’re in hospital to help them get the care they need and are comfortable with.

Cultural and Spiritual Care

Spiritual and emotional support is available to patients, families, and staff in most hospitals in Alberta Health Services and in the 2 children’s hospitals in Alberta. Talk to your healthcare provider to get in touch with someone to help you.
