Intermittent Self-Catheterization (Female)

Section 9: Next steps

Congratulations! You’ve finished the intermittent self-catheterization (female) learning module. You can go back and review any part of the module any time you want.

What can I do next?

  • Learn as much as you can about intermittent self-catheterization (ISC). Read about it and ask questions.
  • Talk about ISC with your healthcare provider or clinic nurse (in person or over the phone). Make sure they answer all your questions.
  • Get some face-to-face training. Learn the right technique for ISC and how often to do it.
  • Once you have learned how to do ISC from your healthcare provider, try it at home and practice. Do not try ISC without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Keep practicing. Remember that it may take time to feel comfortable with ISC.
