Managing your weight isn't as simple as counting calories in and calories burned. Healthy eating and regular physical activity are important for health and weight, but that's not the whole story.

MyHealth.Alberta.ca has lots of resources to help you achieve your best health. You will find information about health conditions impacted by weight, creating a weight management plan, and medicines and surgeries that may help some people. You'll also find information for pregnancy, children, and teens.

Your healthy weight is not about the numbers on a scale, it is what you can reach and stay at, while enjoying the healthiest life that you can. If you would like to do a self-guided, evidence-based learning module to start managing your weight and health, see Your Best Health: Adult Weight Management. The learning module is designed to:

  • help you explore your strengths and find opportunities for change
  • learn what may be influencing how you manage your health and weight
  • introduce you to topics related to weight
