What is stress management?

Stress management is a healthy ways to deal with stress. This is very important for a good recovery after a conc​ussion. Feeling worried and stressed can make your concussion symptoms worse and can slow down your recovery.

Following, you will find 5 strategies to help you manage stress in a healthy way. Try them for at least 4 weeks to see if they work.


Write it down! Print off the “Strategies to Try” Journal. Using the journal, identify 3 strategies you can try to improve your stress level.

If you need help managing your stress, talk to your doctor or healthcare provider. They may be able to connect you with a psychologist or counsellor to help you deal with stress. Visit Help in Tough Times for a list of resources available in Alberta.
